As part of our A.C.T.I.O.N. (Against Crime Together In Our Neighbourhood) project, Heart of Pitsea funded ‘The 2 Johns’ from eSafety Training to deliver internet safety sessions to pupils in years 6 & 7 at our local schools and an evening session for adult community members to attend.
‘The 2 Johns’ are both ex policemen and qualified Police Trainers who have had a lot of experience with how young people are engaging and accessing the online world and the apps they are using, without realising the dangers.
The sessions are very informative and a little bit eye opening.
‘Finding out more gave me the skills and knowledge to speak to my son about what he views’.
‘Understanding the world of You Tube and Social Media that is a major issue for young people, a world as an older person I did not fully understand before.’
You can find out more information about ‘The 2 Johns’ on their website eSafety Training where you will find lots of helpful resources for children and parents.
We hope to set up more sessions later this year – if you are interested in booking a place please get in touch.
