Round up of the Pitsea Community Christmas Event 2022

The Pitsea Community Christmas Event, held on Saturday 3 December 2022, was another huge success and very well attended.

The Basildon & Pitsea Carnival Association kindly coordinated the entertainment programme, which kicked off with music and song by The Reverend Simon Law from St Gabriel Church.  The George Hurd Activity Centre Choir also came along and performed well known Christmas classics and carols.

There were amazing martial arts demonstrations by the members of Ryukyukan Karate Pitsea Dojo and Basildon Academy students performed some fantastic hip-hopping street dance routines they had be taught during after school sessions funded by Youth Younique Generation (our youth forum). Two young singers also sang a variety of popular songs…they were both incredible!

Local community organisations hosted stalls, including: The Craig Tyler Trust – suicide awareness and prevention, Against All Odds – domestic violence counselling, Basildon Heritage, Neighbourhood Watch, Basildon Community Policing Team, Essex Youth Service, Peabody Housing Association, and the Basildon, Billericay & Wickford Council for Voluntary Service.   And we were thrilled that Essex Fire Service were able to come along with their fire engine for the first time this year too!

There were low-cost rides and fairground stalls to enjoy and Father Christmas made his annual whistle-stop appearance to meet the community before the big day.

Heart of Pitsea provided Pitsea Library with a small budget to purchase resources for their Christmas art and craft activities and they welcomed around 400 hundred people through their doors during the day.

Heart of Pitsea would like to thank Everett Electrical Engineers for installing our christmas tree on the balcony of Pembrooke House free of charge and London and Cambridge Properties for allowing that to happen.  We would also like to thank Pitsea Market Manager, Craig, for switching on the Heart of Pitsea Lights in the tree in the market.

Pitsea Community Christmas Event 2023 and going forward.

This year’s Pitsea Community Christmas event will be held on Saturday 2 December.

We are keen to involve the whole community anyway we can!

On a personal level would you, or someone you know be interested in getting involved?  Are you a local business that would like to contribute in any way?

  • Planning the event?
  • Helping on the day of the event?
  • Taking part at the event?
  • Provide a donation of money or stock/offer a service or discount on the day?

You can contribute as much or as little as you can – everything helps and all ideas are welcome!

Heart of Pitsea is proud to have provided the funding for the annual Pitsea Community Christmas event and our staff who plan the event and coordinate it on the day.

However, our Lottery funding will end during early 2023, which means that this year’s event will sadly be the last that we can support and we are incredibly keen to ensure that it continues.
