Poo Patrol is a creative project initiated and partly funded by Youth YOUnique Generation, the Heart of Pitsea’s teenage youth forum.
Concerned about dog mess being left on the grass by dog owners in the new Legacy Park and Elm Green Park, the group of youngsters came up with an idea to create bright signs and slogans to remind people to pick up their doggy doings in bags and place in the bins provided.
They invited pupils from Northlands Primary School to take part in a competition to come up with the best pictures and slogans that will be used to encourage dog owners to act responsibly. Youngsters were also able to create abstract designs too. There were an amazing 342 entries from 12 classes – Alder, Ash, Cedar, Chestnut, Fir, Hawthorn, Juniper, Maple, Pine, Poplar, Spruce and Willow.
Just a small selection of them are here on display in the Poo Patrol Gallery.
Youth YOUnique Generation have been hard at work judging the competition entries and will announce six winning picture entries very soon.
